THE NORTHWEST WASHINGTON EMPLOYER HEALTH COLLECTIVE
Our Mission
The NWEHC is on a mission to transform healthcare procurement for local communities by fostering collaboration among employers. By pooling resources, knowledge, and leveraging collective bargaining power, we aim to secure cost-effective, high-quality healthcare solutions that prioritize workforce well-being. Through innovation, transparency, and a commitment to employee-centric care, we strive to create a healthier, more sustainable future for our community.
How do we do it?
The Challenge
Healthcare is currently in the midst of significant change.
Recent legislative adjustments have placed a heavier burden of employers, requiring them to conduct thorough due diligence of their benefit offerings.
Employers across the country are already facing legal action for underperformance of review.
Transparency mandates have also introduced a wealth of new data for market analysis.
The industry is experiencing rapid consolidation, as large health systems merge, and both carriers and health systems are in a race for independent provider acquisition.
Meanwhile, employers, who ultimately foot the healthcare bill, find themselves navigating these massive entities alone.
Consequently, employees face higher premium costs, increased out-of-pocket expenses, and smaller wage hikes, all within a healthcare system that often delivers subpar quality care.
Our Approach
By uniting employers within our community, we can educate, collaborate, and implement strategies that effectively enhance quality and financial outcomes, and contribute to the betterment of our local communities.
We do this through events, webinars, newsletters and collaboration among members, all at no cost.
Nwehc goals
Focus Local
Quadruple Aim
Focus Local
Healthcare is delivered locally and requires local solutions. Far too many solutions are focused nationally and ignore the dynamics of a local community. By focusing on NW WA, we can target the key drivers of cost locally and implement strategies that work locally.

Quadruple Aim
Focus Local
Through collaborative learning events alongside local employers, articles, webinars, and the exchange of achievements, the NWEHC and its partners have created a platform for sharing the successes and challenges encountered by our affiliated organizations.

Collaborative Purchasing
Everyone says it, but very few can do it. Through employer collaboration we help local employers achieve the Quadruple Aim; high quality care delivered cost effectively and satisfying both patient and provider needs. This cannot be achieved nationally, it has to be done locally.

Collaborative Purchasing
Employers must work together to leverage their position as the true buyer of healthcare. Working together with other local employers the NWEHC helps facilitate joint purchasing opportunities, leveraging the collective to drive better costs for everyone.

National Viewpoints
Our founding organizers are national experts in their fields. While working on behalf of some of the largest employers in the country they implemented localized strategies that work. They are now focused on bringing these solutions to the communities they live and work in.
Empowerment

Collectively we empower each other. Everyone in the Collective is a partner, focused on driving the best outcomes possible, learning from each other and working together to build a better healthcare system for our businesses and families. The only way to change the current state is together.
